The Waring House is a mysterious mansion within the grounds of the Denver Botanic Garden.
Like all of the Gardens and neighboring Cheesman Park, the home was built on top of a cemetery that was never fully moved.
Specifically, it was constructed on the section of the cemetery known as ‘Boot Hill’ where those on the fringes of society were laid to rest and left unclaimed when the cemetery was closed in the early 1900s.
It’s said to be quite the spirited location, which makes it the perfect spot for the first BTV Mini.
What is BTV?
BTV stands for Beyond the Veil. Up until now, it’s been held as an annual Mediumship and Paranormal Weekender that is exclusively open to graduates of Modern Mediums, a 7-week program on the intersections of spirit communication, folk magic, and paranormal exploration.
If spending three days in a haunted space with fun people, exploring the area, talking to spirits, learning about the history behind the haunts, and making friends with the living and non-living sounds like your idea of a good time, you’ll likely love Modern Mediums and Beyond the Veil.
Why BTV Mini?
Some locations, like the Waring House, aren’t set up for overnight guests (living ones, that is), but offer an amazing opportunity to have a party and practice talking with spirits in a respectful manner.
Beyond the Veil and the prerequisite Modern Mediums might not be in everyone’s budget right now. BTV Mini is still an investment, but it’s a fraction of the weekend retreat experience.
Last, but not least, Beyond the Veil has become so well-loved that this an extra opportunity for Modern Mediums to come together.
But wait, there’s more.
BTV Mini at the Waring House isn’t held on some random Saturday.
We convene on Krampusnacht, the eve of Saint Nicholas Day, which are two important markers in Yuletide lore. BTV Mini isn’t a “ghost hunt.” We gather in community with the living and nonliving, celebrating history, Yuletide folklore, and going beyond the veil for a night that is sure to be unforgettable.
The Details
BTV Mini is hosted by Sterling Moon, with internationally renowned medium Seth Browder accompanying as a facilitator.
BTV Mini starts with a 2-hour, virtually-held class, on Wednesday, December 2nd from 6:30PM - 8:30PM Mountain Time.
We’ll cover spirit communication and paranormal exploration tips and topics like:
How to be a dazzling conversationalist (because “how did you die?” is a terrible opener) and how history can bring out the haunted
That’s not a ghost, you got a text message - using common sense with common “ghost hunting” tools
Egregores, or spirits conjured by the living through repeated action and strong belief, in spirit communication
Spiritual cleansing and aftercare following spirit encounters
We’ll also delve into the very spooky spirit of the Yuletide season. At BTV Mini, we’re not just talking with the spirits of the Waring House, but the wild energy of the season…seance with Krampus and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, anyone?
The virtual class will be recorded and available for replay until December 8th. Especially if you haven’t taken Modern Mediums, attending/watching the class prior to our evening at the Waring House. is expected

Registration and FAQs
Registration is $285 and capped at 30 attendees. The price will increase to $345 on November 1st. A limited number of payment plan tickets are available for paid tier members of the Community Coven on Patreon and SMDA Alumni.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a stocking filled with treats for you to enjoy both during our evening at the Waring House and once you go home.
We will gather in the great room for our opening and to introduce ourselves to both each other and the spirits of the Waring House.
We will then break into small groups that will be led by Sterling, Seth, and our assistants for focused experiences, including:
A seance to contact egregores of the Christmas and Yuletide Season
Paranormal exploration spirit box sessions using the Estes Method
We will end our evening together back in the great room to share our experiences, talk about spiritual cleansing once you get home (some of the treats in your stocking will help!)
