How to Make a Haunted Doll: A Practice in Conjuring Egregores

While some believe haunted objects are portals – or traps – for sentient spirits, it’s also possible that our belief is what powers the paranormal phenomenon associated with these items. Thoughtforms, also called egregores, are spirits conjured from the actions, thoughts, and emotions of one or more people, typically over a prolonged period of time. They are manifestations of genuine paranormal activity, but the source is completely fabricated by the living. This begs the question – if we believe strongly enough that an object is haunted, can we make it haunted? Especially if we add ritual and magic?
Let’s put the theory to the test on Friday, October 23rd from 7:30PM – 9:30PM at Noctavia Obscure as we set out to make haunted dolls capable of mischief and mirth. A selection of dolls and figurines will be available for you to choose from. Our evening will begin with some history and theory before we dive into a ritual to conjure the spirit of your new friend.
